Beginning April 11, our online banking service provider is implementing a new layer of security for online banking called TLS 1.2. This is the current industry standard for data security and is a financial industry best practice. TLS 1.2 ensures that transactions conducted from online banking to the end user are securely encrypted, providing enhanced privacy and security.
Internet browsers and operating systems that support TLS 1.2 will typically default to this security protocol, but you may want to confirm this by checking your browser security settings (see below). Please note, those using older browsers and operating systems will experience a disruption in online banking service. If you experience technical difficulties, enable TLS 1.2 on your system or consult your local IT resource.
• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (and below) as well as Microsoft XP/Vista (and below) are not compatible with TLS 1.2. To utilize online banking, users will need to upgrade to a compatible operating system.
• Microsoft Internet Explorer Desktop versions 9 & 10 can be compatible if run on Windows 7 or newer, but are not enabled by default. Users will need to enable TLS 1.2 within Tools>Internet Options>Advanced (see diagram below).
• See below for a quick reference of compatibility for other browser and operating systems.
Windows 7 & newer, enable TLS 1.2 within your browser by selecting Tools>Internet Options>Advanced, as shown below. If you have questions, please consult your local IT resource.
