SummerFest Block Party - You're invited!

Community State Bank recaptures “wild” title sponsorship of 2008 Zoo Brew
(ANKENY, Iowa) – Community State Bank recaptures its “wildly” successful partnership with the Blank Park Zoo as title sponsor of the 2008 Zoo Brew series.
Every Wednesday evening in July from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., the Zoo becomes a playground for adults 21 and over. Each Zoo Brew event features beer or wine sampling, live music and, of course, all of the Zoo’s animal exhibits until 8 p.m.
“Community State Bank is pleased to celebrate its fun, untamed spirit with the Blank Park Zoo. We support the Zoo’s cultural and educational mission and are proud to be a partner,” said Mark Degner, CSB President and CEO.
Zoo Brew admission is FREE for Zoo Members, guests with paid Zoo admission, or just $5 with a coupon available at all 10 Community State Banks in the metro area (while supplies last).

Community State Bank recently presented 10 organizations a total of $20,000 in CSB Community Enrichment Grants.
CSB’s new program was designed to support non-profit improvement projects in the Des Moines metro area. Each of CSB’s 10 locations awarded $2,000 for a local community project.

Ankeny
Megan Hartung, executive director of New Horizons Adult Care Center (left), and Jeanne Silvers, founding director (right), accept a $2,000 Community Enrichment Grant check from Jeff Swanson, bank manager of the Ankeny Boulevard CSB location. The award will be used for new commercial grade flooring in the main activity area at the Neveln Community Resource Center. New Horizons cares for adults with traumatic brain injury and chronic medical problems.
Tom Colvin, executive director of the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, accepts a $2,000 Community Enrichment Grant check from Sarah Chiappano, bank manager of the Oralabor CSB in Ankeny. The money will be used for landscaping at the front entrance of the ARL’s new 42,000 sq-ft. facility (in background).

Accepting the award is Shelley Lande, volunteer, Ed Gooch, Ankeny Parks & Recreation Superintendent, and Annette Vance, Ankeny Art Center board president. The grant will be used for benches and other enhancements to the Rose Garden area.
Altoona
Willowbrook Elementary kindergarten teacher Carol Pederson (left) and Principal Robin Norris (right) accept a $2,000 Community Enrichment Grant check from Altoona CSB Bank Manager Heather Wilson. Grant funds will be used to build a Literacy Garden, a cooperative project designed in part by the students.
Des Moines
